Celebrating the Life of
DeLone A. "Dee" (Enderson) Snook, 87, of Newton, passed away Monday morning, January 21, 2013, at Skiff Medical Center in Newton, under the care of Skiff Hospice.
Private family graveside services for Dee will be held at a later date. Pence - Reese Funeral Home in Newton, have been entrusted with the arrangements. Memorials are being designated in Dee's name to Skiff Hospice, and may be sent to: Dee Snook's Family, 1215 - East 13th Street South, Newton, IA 50208.
Dee, the daughter of John B. and Martha Elizabeth (Oakland) Enderson, was born February 12, 1925, in Albert Lea, Minnesota. She was a graduate of the Albert Lea Senior High, Class of 1943, and was very proud of her Norwegian Heritage.
On August 23, 1945, Dee was united in marriage with Harry F. "Ted" Snook in Albert Lea. She was a longtime resident of the Newton area, and member of the Newton First Lutheran Church. Dee was employed as the Banquet Director for many of the Newton area motels and hotels. She had devoted her life to her family and friends, and was very active in community service. She enjoyed bowling, playing cards and entertaining. Dee was a kind and warm hearted lady, and will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her.
Those left to honor Dee's memory include her three children: her daughters: Linda Krause (Rick) of Evanston, IL and Connie Schlegel of Dublin, OH; son Tim Snook (Roxie) of Newton; her four grandchildren: Leo (Ciara) Krause, Terri (Brian) Bruce, Erin (Mike) Hornbaker and Anthony (Stephanie) Schlegel; eight great-grandchildren: Rowan, Ben, Hannah, Lauren, Wil, Hunter, Faith and Sam; her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Howard and Helen Snook, Phyllis Snook, Judy Snook and Glynn Williams; her nieces and nephews; the Family of Hoyt Veber; and her many friends.
Dee was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Ted on May 19, 1986; and a brother John Enderson.
