Obituary of Duane Paul Nimmo

Duane Paul Nimmo, 57, of Story City, Iowa died on Sunday morning, July 26, 2009 at the Bethany Life Communities. Duane was born July 14, 1952 to Ray Cleo Nimmo and Cleo Hazel (Messick) Nimmo, in Newton, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers: Kenneth Nimmo and Keith Nimmo. Duane proudly worked many years for Sauer Danfoss, in Ames, Iowa, and Story County Work Activity Center. He loved Iowa State football, dancing, traveling and country music. Those left to honor Duane's memory include his brothers: John (Florence) Nimmo of Boone, Iowa, Joe (Judy) NImmo of St. Charles, Illinois and Alan Nimmo of Chicago, Illinois; his sister Phyllis Marsh of Annapolis, Maryland; Sister-in-law Sylvia Nimmo of Nebraska; several nieces and nephews and many loving friends. The family has entrusted Pence~Reese Funeral Home in Newton with the arrangements. Duane will be layed to rest at Newton Union Cemetery on Thursday, July 30, 2009 with graveside services at 11:00 a.m.. Visitation with the family will be held at the funeral home at 10:00 a.m., prior to the graveside services. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Duane's name are suggested to Willowbrook Adult Day Care Center, or to the Charity of your choice. Calling hours will be Thursday from One hour prior to services at Pence ~ Reese Funeral Home, 310 N. 2nd Ave. E., Newton, IA. The funeral will be Thursday at 11:00 at Newton Union Cemetery, 1600 - W. 4th Street N., Newton with Pastor Gary Marzolf officiating. Burial will be in Newton Union Cemetery, Newton on Thursday at 11:30 am.
