Dora and I were long time friends via our autoharp connection and the fact that we were both native Iowans though I have not lived there for many years. I was saddened to learn of her passing as she will be missed by friends and family.
My sincere sympathies to Kenneth, Steven and Nancy. I remember Dora as always so interested in hearing about what us kids were doing. Sincere in her caring for family. We appreciate her for her loyalty and love of the Carpenters and our extended families. Peace be with you.
Sincerely, Vicki
I remember Dora Belle playing her autoharp at our Irwin Reunion about 15 yrs ago. It was so enjoyable. We were all looking so forward to hearing her play again this year - at our 75th Irwin Reunion. I am saddened that she will not be with us in body- but gladdened that she will still be with us in spirit. God Bless you Dora Belle for all your wonderful years of sharing your love of music. Peace be with you, Nancy Kuenen
Dora was a sweetheart of a lady. She oversaw the autoharp activities at the Avoca festival, keeping a steady hand on the oar. Not always easy! Very thoughtful. I've kept in touch with her through the years, always looking forward to her Christmas cards and family news. Was sad to hear of her passing.
I knew Dora from coming to the autoharp events at Avoca. She was so very dedicated to helping folks learn the instrument. I did workshops for Dora while at the Avoca festival. She was a lovely lady with lots of concern for others. I send my sympathy to all her family and members of the Happy Hearts Autoharp Club.
Our sincere sympathy to the Miller family. Dora and family brought the cats to us for their care. Dora was always so friendly and kind. We enjoyed her visits. Any cat that found its way to the Miller home was a lucky cat, finding such a loving and caring home. We will miss Dora! Our sympathy, Doctors and Staff, Newton Animal Clinic
