My Uncle Ralph was one of the most admirable men I've known. When I was a kid, he was always glad to see my brothers and me when we visited him and his parents (my Grandpa and Grandma Van Soelen) on their farm. He loved animals, and amazed us kids with the way he imitated their sounds; he became a great farmer. He didn't let physical challenges keep him from living a full life. He found the perfect wife in Bernice, and they raised a wonderful family of four. He was just a year younger than my mother, Cornelia (Van Soelen Arkema), and they were always close. What struck me most was his humility and quiet courage. The world needs more men like him. He loved people and loved telling stories. He lived his Faith in an exemplary way. Mairead and I extend our deepest sympathies to Aunt Bernice and the entire family.

Dear Bernice and Family,
May God give you peace and comfort as you grieve and celebrate Ralph's life. He was a humble servant of God saved by grace alone. We thank God for Ralph and his witness!
Our love to all!
