While you grieve, know you are not alone. God invites you to "Throw all your anxiety on him because he cares for you."(1 Peter 5:7) He promises to "Swallow up death forever."(Isaiah 25:8) Then you will have the hope of seeing your loved one again for the Bible confirms "There is going to be a resurrection."(Acts 24:15) My condolences to the Family."

I’m very saddened by our loss of Shirley but happy she’s home with the Lord, Harley and family. Some of my fondest childhood memories include Shirley. Whether spending time spoiling us with treats as she babysat or picnicking with the family at Rock Creek, she was always with us - a part of the family. She was kind, living her life with humility and joy with that great big heart of gold, easy laughter and fun-loving spirit! She was gifted at finding humor in all circumstances and her positive attitude greatly impacted me. I remember her picking me up from Kindergarten in her new convertible car with the hood down. Climbing into that cool car created a fun spectacle at the school yard! Always living life to the fullest, a couple decades later she hosted a sleepover at her apartment for her then twenty-something “kids” that included a game of Twister - we giggled until our stomachs hurt. Thinking of you Nancy, Billy and Rod in your loss and know that Shirley will be greatly missed but never ever forgotten. Love, Joni (Probasco) Kristoffersen

So sad to hear the news. Shirley has a big place in my heart. She was the best babysitter in the world! When the Beatles hit it was Shirley who made them come alive. She let me be Ringo in our little living band. I had the box which, of course, was a great bass drum. Shirley, I think, was Paul on the broom. We sang and played our hearts out. “I Want to Hold Your Hand” was played non-stop on the little 45 phonograph. My little sister, Joni, got into act wearing a Beatle wig. Oh those were the days. We will miss you, Shirley. From Joel Probasco and family, to the Welch family: Nancy, Rod, Bill

I was very saddened to learn Shirley had passed. Her and her siblings were next door neighbors to us back in the day when kids were out til Sundown playing Hide & Seek, Tag, baseball, explored woods, built “huts” etc. she was a regular playmate. Btw she was the BEST baseball player in neighborhood and I always picked her when Captain. Approaching middle school my family moved and I didn’t see her that much. In recent years on trips back to Newton I made a point to visit even for short time. Reconnected on Facebook and followed her there as well. My childhood memories are always meaningful to me and Shirley is prominent in filling those memories. Rest In Peace Shirley. Mike Creagan and family.
