To the Kirk kids - your family were our cherished neighbors for many years. My folks often said they couldn't have had better neighbors.
Thinking of you all.

To Karla, Kevin, Kenny, Willie and family - I know how you must feel as I lost my dad this Easter. There are no words to soothe a loss that is felt so deeply and to tell you how sorry we are about your dad. But we do hope that time will help heal your hearts, and know that his love will always be with you. May it comfort you to know that your father has left the best of himself behind in your memory, heart, soul, and in you.
With our deepest sympathy,
Mike and Brenda Hansen

Thank you to all of my family and friends for their help in getting me through last week. You know who you are if you are reading this. What more could I say about my Dad that I didn't say during his eulogy you may ask? Well... I have many, many additional notes that I had taken and recorded these past few years, and even more that have come to mind since the funeral. If any one would like a copy of Dad's eulogy, or a copy of the video or audio of Dad's funeral, please let me know with a phone call or email. Phone 641-792-4000. Email JETAV8R@IowaTelecom.net I am fortunate to have had two outstanding parents, a sister and two brothers. I am proud of our father and will miss him tremendously.

I was going down the innerstate lookin for a job. Saw the Newton airport so I pulled in to see if they needed any help.
Got hired at Johnson Aviation where Kenny was the lead mechanic, and about a year later married Kenny's only daughter, Karla.
Thanks, Grandpa (I always called him that after our kids were born) for the wonderful years we knew each other and your beautiful daughter.

Karla, Kevin, Kenny, Willie and family: As a teenager in high school pushing my dream to be a pilot someday, Kenny was always there for me. When I screwed up he was there with encouraging words. He was there with praise when I did things right. He was there to lead young kids in Air Scouts opening the door to the wonderment of flight. Every time I get near an airplane the memory of his encouragement is with me. Had I needed another dad I couldn't think of anyone better to fill that role. For me he will never be missed because I've always felt his presence and always will. With his passing it is unfortunate that others will never get to know how really special this man is. My prayers are with you and your family. God Bless.

Hey Grandpa...Sorry I couldn't be at your funeral on Saturday...I was with you in spirit. I always remember the nice "quiet" naps you used to have when we came over to visit and then when we were ready to leave would reply,"Do you have to rush off". So funny! Time wasn't ever an issue with you and that's why I think you left us when you did. You were ready and knew you had raised your children, saw the important times in you grandchildren's life and now you can rest. Thank you for always being my "ol Pardner". I love you so much and will miss you. I look forward to your warm smile and embrace when we meet again. I love you,
Philly (your ol' pardner)

Even though I was able to attend the service my prayers were with you. My hear will always hurt.
Uncle Kenny was always the best Uncle ever in the world. I think my best time with him was when I was in with my daughter Victoria who was 3 at the time and he looked at me and said,,,sis,,,lets go run...oh my lord did he ever mean run....and let me tell you we did not stop one time to even rest...oh no way that is not how Uncle Kenny done things...it was all or nothing..the way I am now. I know that is who I get it from and for that I thank you Uncle Kenny and I have passed that down to Victoria.
We had alot of heart to heart talks and he always knew just what to say to make it all better. One time I had just the right thing to say to him to make it a little better for him and I will always treasure that.
He gave his all to everyone and at everything he done. What a man to look up to and have in my life.
You will be missed so much and I will see you again one day Uncle Kenny and I want to go for one more run with you..
Love you,
Anna Marie Carr

Well... I leave for Oshkosh this weekend for a few days, my one and only yearly vacation that I take. It will be the very first time that I have attended since my Dad passed away. It was always "our" time to totally immerse ourselves into aviation. I know Dad would tell me "You go on ahead Kenny and have a good time." Well... I'll sure try my best to do just that Pop.
