Obituary of Margaret Jean Weston

Margaret Jean Weston, the daughter of Roscoe M. and Margaret
Anna Scott Berkley, was born July 31, 1930 in Newton, Iowa. She graduated from the Mingo Senior High
School.
On June 5, 1947 Margaret Jean was united in marriage with Richard
"Dick" R. Weston in Lincoln, Nebraska.
Margaret Jean devoted her life to her husband and family. She worked for the Maytag Company for 28.5
years, retiring from scheduling. She was
a member of the Mingo United Methodist Church, Mingo Women's Club, Satellite
Circle, and served on the board of the Mingo Centennial Committee and Mingo
Community Center. Margaret Jean loved
her family. She enjoyed bowling, craft
work, volunteering, dancing, traveling, camping, reading, and entertaining in
their home. Margaret and Richard
wintered in Apache junction, Arizona for 18 years.
Margaret Jean died Wednesday, March 11, 2009 at the Monarch
Wing at Skiff Medical Center. She was 78
years old.
Those left to honor Margaret Jean's memory include her husband
of 61 years, Dick Weston of Mingo, Iowa; her daughters, Kathy Weston of Fresno,
California and Janine Jensen of Grimes, Iowa; her son, Craig (Kris) Weston of
Newton, Iowa; her four grandchildren, Kimberly (Dennis) Gunn, Ryan (Tami)
Kessler, Kelly Weston, Katy Weston; her three great grandchildren, Keyshawn
Gunn, Marshawn Gunn and Nicholas Kessler; her brother, Millard Berkley of Des
Moines, Iowa; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 14th
at the Mingo United Methodist Church.
Friends may call at the Pence ~ Reese Funeral Home after 3:00 p.m.
Friday. The family will greet friends
from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorials may be designated to the Mingo
United Methodist Church or Hospice of Jasper County.
