Funeral services for Pauline, will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, Feb. 27, at the Pence-Reese Funeral Home in Newton. Friends may call one hour prior to the services on Friday at the Funeral Home.
Pauline Elizabeth Welle, 96, the daughter of Simon Andrew and Mary Elizabeth (Beuth) Haunsperger, was born July 3, 1912 in Alton, Illinois. She attended the Marquette grade school and was a graduate of the Alton Catholic School, Class of 1930. She later attended a year of Business College. Formerly of Kellogg, Pauline was employed by Winpower in Newton, Iowa, and then by the Kellogg Savings Bank, retiring after thirty-six years, as Assistant Vice President, in 1973.
In 1949, Pauline was united in marriage with Raymond W. Welle in Des Moines. She had devoted her life to her family and friends, and enjoyed helping others. Pauline was a member of the Sacred Hearty Catholic Church in Newton, Sacred Heart Society, and a past member of Skiff Hospital Auxiliary, Kellogg Historical Society, Iowa Mountaineers and the National Association of Bank Women.
Pauline passed away on Monday afternoon, Feb. 23, 2009 at the Newton Health Care Center. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Raymond on March 31, 1979; her five brothers: Simon "Bud" Haunsperger, John Haunsperger, Albert T. Haunsperger, Jerome J. Haunsperger and Joseph Haunsperger; and her two sisters: Anna Marie Haunsperger and Josephine Wymore.
Those left to honor Pauline's memory include her many nieces and nephews; and her many good neighbors and friends.
In LIEU of flowers: memorials in Pauline's name are being designated: for the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Hospice of Jasper County; Kellogg Historical Society; or to the Charity of your choice.
