Lula Pearl Schmitt, age 86, of 500 1st Ave. E., Apt. 54, Newton died Monday, April 9, 2007 at Monarch Wing At Skiff Medical Center, Newton. Mrs. Schmitt was born June 16, 1920 at Roe, AK the daughter of the late William Franklin and the late Lula Pearl (Johnson) Osborn. She retired from Maytag Company as a Production in 1977. Mrs. Schmitt was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church She is survived by one daughter: Louise & Ora Seals of Newton, IA and three sons: Roy & Frances Cupples of Fullerton, NE, Tom Cupples of Knoxville, IA, Herman & Connie Cupples of Newton, IA Step Son, Kevin & Susan Schmitt of Pocahontas, IA; Step Daughter, Jane & Chuck Wertz of Eureka, IL Predeceased by her Husband, Herman Cupples, Husband, James B. Robinson, Husband, Alvin George Schmitt, Sister, Myrtle Lee Cupples, Sister, Flossie Cupples, Brother, Thomas Woodrow Osborn Calling hours will be Thursday from Visitation with the family will be from 6:30 - 8pm at Pence ~ Reese Funeral Home, 310 N. 2nd Ave. E., Newton, IA. The funeral will be Friday at 11:00 at Pence ~ Reese Funeral Home, 310 N. 2nd Ave. E., Newton with Rev. Roy Cupples officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery, Sac City on Saturday at 12:00 pm. Memorials may be made to American Diabetes Association or Hospice of Jasper County
