Violet Florence Rider, age 81, of Newton died Friday, June 15, 2007 at , Newton. Mrs. Rider was born July 3, 1925 at Colfax, IA the daughter of the late Lester A. and the late Violet (Phillips) Dodd. She married Don L.Rider August 28, 1943 at Newton, Iowa. She was employed by Maytag Company as a General Laborer. She is survived by her husband: Don L.Rider and two sons: Ronald & Connie Sue Rider of Cedar Rapids, IA, Jeffery & Connie Jean Rider of Newton, IA Sister-in-law, Evelyn Phelps of Newton, IA; Sister-in-law, Beverly Dodd of Newport Richey, FL; Sister-in-law, Gladys Dodd of West Hartford, CT Predeceased by her Brother, Thomas Dodd, Brother, Phillip Dodd, Brother, Donald Dodd, Brother, Galen Dodd, Brother, Edward Dodd, Sister, Barbara Dodd . The funeral will be Thursday at 2:00 at First Christian Church Disciples, 314 E. 2nd Street N., Newton with Rev. Mark Young officiating. Burial will be in Restland Cemetery, Baxter on Sunday at 2:00 pm.
