Obituary of Martin W. De Jong

Martin W. De Jong, age 89, of 500 1st Street N., Newton died Saturday, August 4, 2007 at Park Centre Health Care, Newton. Mr. De Jong was born September 16, 1917 at Killduff, IA the son of the late John B. and the late Winnie I. (Epink) De Jong. She predeceased him Feb. 13, 1999. He served in the Army from 1941 to 1945 during World War II . He was employed by as a Farmer. Mr. De Jong was a member of V.F.W. Newton Post #1655; American Legion Newton Post #111 He is survived by Brother of one sister: Esther Wilson of Newton, IA Step Son, Dwight & Kathy Baldwin of Kellogg, IA; Step Daughter, Ila Campbell of Des Moines, IA Predeceased by his Wife, Roberta DeJong, Sister, Anna Swigart, Sister, Bessie DeJong Calling hours will be Wednesday from prior to services at Pence ~ Reese Funeral Home, 310 N. 2nd Ave. E., Newton, IA. The funeral will be Wednesday at 11:00 at Pence ~ Reese Funeral Home, 310 N. 2nd Ave. E., Newton with Rev. Dale Dorrell officiating. Burial will be in Palo Alto, Newton on Tuesday at 11:00 am.
