Oliver B. Smith, age 88, of 1105-E. 12th St. S., #119, Newton died Thursday, December 27, 2007 at Monarch Wing At Skiff Medical Center, Newton. Mr. Smith was born June 14, 1919 at Walkerton, IN the son of the late Saul - - - and the late Nina - - - (Anderson) Smith. He served in the Army from 1942 to 01/301946 during World War II . He was employed by Lind Implement as a Parts Manager. Mr. Smith was a member of Presbyterian Church; Newton American Legion #111 He is survived by two sons: Roger & Diana Smith of Colfax, IA, Doug & Cindy Smith of Newton, IA Step Son, Ted & Sherry Haney of Knoxville, IA; Son-in-law, Dale Ford of Mount Carroll, IL; Step Son, Jack & Carolyn Haney of Cedar Falls, IA; Step Daughter, Connie & Ron Rider of Cedar Rapids, IA; Step Daughter, Peggy & Ron Smith of Baxter, IA; Step Daughter, Patty & Fred Smith of Altoona, IA; Special Friend, Rosalee Edwards of Newton, IA Predeceased by his Wife, Bernice Smith, Step Daughter, Joyce Ford, Brother, Sidney Smith, Brother, LeROy Smith, Brother, Jamie Smith Calling hours will be Saturday from prior to services at Pence ~ Reese Funeral Home, 310 N. 2nd Ave. E., Newton, IA. The funeral will be Thursday at 12:00 at Pence ~ Reese Funeral Home, 310 N. 2nd Ave. E., Newton with Captain Ron Cook officiating. Burial will be in Merle Hay Crematory, Des Moines on Friday at .
