Obituary of Ethel June Harned

E. June Harned, the daughter of Howard E. Harper and Hettie Neater was born June 21, 1920, in York Pennsylvania. She graduated from the York High School with the class of 1939. June served her country in the United States Army during World War II. On February 15, 1946, June was united in marriage with Harold Vincent "Tiny" Harned at Ft. Sam Houston in San Antonio, Texas. June dedicated her life to her husband and family. She loved her family, loved her country and loved the Cubs. She was an avid bingo player. June was a member of the American Legion Post #111; the V.F.W. Auxiliary and the Disabled Veterans. June died January 26, 2008, at her home in Lambs Grove, she was 87 years old. June was preceded in death by her parents; her step-mother, Nellie Pensinger; her brother, Robert Harper; and her sister, Audrey Ketterman. Those left to honor June's memory include her husband of 62 years, Harold Vincent "Tiny" Harned of Lambs Grove, Iowa; her sons and daughters-in-law, Harold 'Vincent', Jr. and Ann Harned of Oskaloosa, Iowa, James and Rebecca Harned of Newton, Iowa; her daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Jim Jarchow of Dubuque, Iowa; her ten grandchildren and three great grandchildren and a niece, Virginia Chubbs of New Holland, Pennsylvania.
