Obituary of Barbara Jean Lint

Barbara Carter Lint, the daughter of Herbert and Faye (Bogart) Carter was born April 15, 1928, in Grinnell, Iowa. At the age of 16, she graduated from the Grinnell High School with the Class of 1946.
Barb was united in marriage to Robert C. Lint on January 3, 1963, in Unionville, Missouri. She was employed by the Maytag Company in Newton for 32 years, retiring in 1983 from the Parts Department. After retirement, many will remember Barb as a waitress and hostess at the New Peking Restaurant in Newton.
Barb was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, who loved spending time with her family and friends. Her interests included mushroom hunting, gardening, cooking, fishing, reading, traveling, playing cards and an occasional excursion to the casino. As a former "I Club" member and season ticket holder, Barb enjoyed Iowa Football games. She was a member of the First Christian Church and the Newton Izaak Walton League Ikettes.
Barb died on February 9, 2008, in the Monarch Wing at Skiff Medical Center in Newton. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Mary Beyer and her grandson Adam Barnett on February 1, 2008.
Those left to honor the memory of Barb include her husband, Robert C. "Bob" Lint of Newton; three daughters and sons-in-law Kathy Allen (Jim) of Knoxville, Bonnie Barnett (Steve) of Newton and Sara Seals (Steve) of Newton, six grandchildren: Elizabeth Sanders of Masonville, Iowa, Andrew and Alisha Barnett of Newton, Jennifer McAlister of Avon, Indiana, Somer and Nicholas McAlister of Newton; three great-grandchildren: Jaredyn and Gabriella of Avon, Indiana and Jaxson of Newton; brother Jerry Carter (Shirley) of Grinnell; sister Linda Wilburn (Brian) of Lake Of The Ozarks, Missouri; brother-in-law Donald Lint (Betty) of Newton, brother-in-law Lester Beyer of Montezuma; several nieces and nephews; and her many good neighbors and friends.
