Obituary of Steven L. Decker

Steven Lee Decker, the son of Clifford Phillip and Sara Christine Wiehl Decker, was born December 8, 1939, in Newton, Iowa. Steve was a lifelong resident of Newton. He graduated from the Newton Senior High School with the class of 1958.
On October 1, 1960, Steve was united in marriage with Dixie L. Temple at the First United Methodist Church in Newton. Steve worked for the Maytag Company in Newton for over 30 years. He retired in 1992, from Automatic Assembly. Steve enjoyed nice cars, shooting and flying. He was a member of the N.R.A., and the Izaak Walton League.
Steve died February 26, 2008, at his home in Newton. He was 68 years old. Steve was preceded in death by his parents.
Those left to honor Steve's memory include his wife, Dixie Decker of Newton, Iowa; her son, Craig (Josepha) Decker of St. Charles, Illinois; his daughter, Diana (Kevin) Deaton of Otley, Iowa; his four grandchildren, Laurel Decker of Waller, Texas, Steven Decker of St. Charles, Illinois, Callie Deaton and Bridger Deaton of Otley, Iowa.
