Obituary of Lois Marguerite Chamberlain

Lois M. Chamberlain Newton Funeral services for Lois M. Chamberlain, of Newton, Iowa, will be 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 25, 2008 at Pence ~ Reese Funeral Home of Newton. Visitation will be after 9 a.m. Wednesday, with the family greeting friends in the Pence Tribute Center, following the service. Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery in Knoxville. Memorials are being designated in Loiss name to the First Christian Church and may be left at the Funeral Home or church. Lois Marguerite Chamberlain, 91, the daughter of William M. and Sarah (Schell) Parker, was born April 7, 1917 in Knoxville, Iowa. She was a graduate of the Knoxville High School, Class of 1934. On June 14, 1936, Lois was united in marriage with C.J. Curley Chamberlain in Knoxville, Iowa. They lived in Knoxville, moving to Newton in 1937. She had devoted her life to her husband and family, and was a member of the First Christian Church in Newton. Lois was a homemaker and assisted her husband in farming and later running a real estate business. She enjoyed spending time with her family, painting and reading. Lois died on Saturday morning, June 21, 2008 at Park Centre Health Care in Newton. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband Curley on March 16, 1993. Those left to honor Loiss memory include her brother and sister-in-law, C.W. and Lois Parker of Denver, Colorado; her great niece Carol Kittelson of Denver; a great-great niece Katrina Kittelson; and her many good neighbors and friends.
