My thoughts and prayers go out to the family. Mr. Bosma was my teacher in junior high at Colfax- Mingo and I remember Mrs. Bosma substituting a couple of times she really had that inner warmth that came out. I remember thinking that you were such a neat family as you chaperoned many of our junior high dances. What a great example of what a person should be and what a family should be!

Scott, Jamie and Brad: We are deeply saddened to hear of Nancy's death. All those times we promised to get together...we should have. What great friends you were when we were all just starting out in our careers and young married lives. Nancy was such a great companion to me in the "Mingo days!" She was charming, funny, insightful, a great entertainer and host, and so creative--what skills she had with antiques and home decorating! Scott and Nancy were greeters at our wedding, and gave us a wonderful antique mirror which Nancy refinished; it is still hanging on our wall; we treasure it. How proud she was of Jamie and Brad and all that her children accomplished! Nancy loved Christmas, and we are very sad to think of the holidays without her. To all of you who knew and loved Nancy, we send our deepest sympathy.

Nancy was a friend for Jr High and early HS when she lived in Grinnell. Altho I had not seen her in decades, I believe this dear friend of my youth did become the woman she aspired to be. The Nancy I knew as so fun-loving and full of life. She was a friend for the good times and thru those times of teenage angst. And her slumber parties were famous at GJHS. If fun was being had, Nancy was right in the thick of it. My deepest sympathies to her husband and children, Don, Shirley and Rob, I am so sorry for your loss. She was one of a kind and while I regret we lost touch, I do know she made an impact on my life.

I too was shocked by the news given me today of Nancy's passing. We were kind of a threesome in Junior High: Nancy, Trish & I. We learned a lot about the world together in our formative years. As sophmores life changed & we all moved cities--each to different locations and drifted apart. RAGBRAI just happened to pass through Newton several years back & Nancy graciously opened her home to an old weary peddler, friend, to which I was most grateful. Trish came up to join us & there we were the threesome, sitting on the floor in the kitchen laughing, just like old times. As if it was only yesterday since we'd seen each other. It was so much fun & I'm so happy for the opportunity to once again renew our friendship. I am so very sorry to hear of her passing. My deepest condolences to close family and friends.....she will be dearly missed. I am very saddened. May God speed.....

Scott, Jamie, & Brad, I'm so very sorry for your loss. With Nancy's big smile and bubbly personality she always made you feel good wherever you happen to see her! I first got to know her when you, Scott, were Jeff's basketball coach at Mingo. I loved sitting by her at games, she was always so nice & I didn't know very many people there at that time. Later I worked with her briefly at Newton Mfg. and then she was my back-up babysitter for Kassy. I always admired her for going back to school to become the wonderful teacher she became. I will never forget the last conversation we had with you two at one of the home football games. I commented on how good you guys always look despite any health issues and her comment back to me still makes me laugh (only now with a tear in my eye)! I don't know if time actually heals but with time you get used to the situation and you will have happy days again (even though it might not seem like it right now)! Please let us know if we can help you in any way!

Through her teaching I know that she touched and changed many lives in a positive way. I feel honored to have had her in my life since we became friends in high school. The Nebergalls have been family friends since I could crawl. As a young person I so clearly remember the many wonderful acts of kindness by the Nebergall family for so many in the Grinnell community. They defined the term "friend" and taught their children well. I went to school with Nancy. I remember in Band getting in trouble for the usual joking around. Nancy and I played trumpet together. She did her best on several occasions to help me out and "cover for me" but that may have been a lost cause. She was always so kind and caring and yet she could appreciate a good joke. I know she made her family proud. Not just in what she accomplished as teacher but for who she became. For who she was as a duaghter and a sister. And for who she was as a wife and a mom and a friend. What she stood for was so much more than a title or a professional position. She stood for all that was right and good and true. She created a ripple effect on humanity that most could only dream of. She did in deed leave her mark, and it was a good one. During confusing times like this, I sometimes wonder why this kind of thing happens and I think of how painful this kind of loss is to us all. After some reflection however,I ultimately come to a different conclusion. One that is far more telling about our creator. And that is that we are so fortunate that God graced us with Nancy and all the joy that came with that gift. And I am so grateful for having known her.

To the dear family we are so sorry to hear about your loss my son had her as a $th grade teacher and also had her husband as a teacher, this seems to have hit him very hard i know she is one of the very few teachers who put her heart and soul into her students and their family, she was always upbeat, freindly kind and sincere, she even acted as a friend to us as parents she will be sadly missed, we don't know all the details, but she must be in a better place out of pain and misery, we were so wishing that our next child would have her as a teacher, I hope this gives everyone a chance to look at there life and live it as she did with her whole heart our sympathy and prayers are with all of the family, may God give you strength during this difficult time.

We have so many wonderful memories, it's hard to pin any one of them down. Traveling to the Iowa State football game. Partying in Snowmass, CO. Spending time w/ families, and Jamie figuring out how to keep newborn Jordan happy. Nancy teaching me the correct way to fill a water glass. Whenever I had an ettiquette question, I always turned to you.....You and Scott coming over to watch "Dan in Real Life." This time of year, in particular, we think of all of you because Brad told our kids how to find out if they were on the "Naughty or Nice" list. We are so very sad and devastated to lose such a wonderful, dear friend. We love you all and our thoughts and prayers are with you. Annie, Eric, Ally, Chris, Jordan and Sam

We would like to thank you for being such a great teacher to our boys (Daryen 9th grade now & Blayden your current student). You made an irreplaceable impression on both of them & helped sculpt them into who they are today. Blayden is already missing your great smile and gentle words. Walk in peace Mrs. Bosma & know that you are greatly missed and loved. The Rhone Family
