I met Lois at mother's visitation in April of 2012. She was very kind. I did not know if she was a friend of family or a relative, but he kindness stood out to me. I knew in the brief conversation that her heart was full of love to share. So much that I knew her name when I saw it. I was reading my grandmothers memorial information on www.findagrave.com and noticed that a picture of her headstone was uploaded by a Lois J. Hinshaw in Jan 2009. I knew that name and when I did a quick search I found this, with her beautiful picture. A face that will stay with me forever, based on one conversation. I wish I could have known her more. My heart felt condolences to her family and friends. What an impact she left.
I am the granddaughter of Bud & Sue Deppe.

Lois was my foster mother for a short time. She cared for my son while I finished high school in Newton.
Her home made noodles were the best with raw onions on top with spaghetti sauce.
She had me join her in their big, black car when there was a bank robbery or something going on in Kellogg. It was so funny when she hit the button for the antenna to go up. We laughed.
She was a good woman. They had a loving family.
My condolences rather late but I had not known until now while looking at obituaries.
Thank you Lois.
Lois was one of the kindest women I ever knew. I met her through genealogy and loved the gifts of family history books that she did for others. She also took photos, researched burials and submitted them to the Iowa Gravestone Photo Project so that people all over the world can find where their relatives are buried. I will miss her and her faithfulness. Barbara Hug.
My husband Jim and I remember Lois from Ashton Chapel. We just want the family to know that we enjoyed knowing their Mother and also their Dad who married us out at the Chapel. They were both good, kind and caring people. Prayers to all the family. Peggy and Jim Hiemstra

So sorry to hear of your loss. Can't even begin to express all of the memories I have of the Hinshaw household. Like a second home for me. My sincere condolences...
My prayers and thoughts are with you and your family during this difficult time. Lois was a wonderful caring woman with such a genteel spirit. She will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved her.
I remember Lois as a good friend and neighbor of my Mom, Katherine Schaumburg, and of Lois putting together the "Reichelt Family" album and sending me one. I really appreciated that.
So sorry for your loss. I enjoyed talking with Lois at the fair over the years to catch up with how the family was, remembering the old days in Kellogg. You are all in my thoughts and prays at this difficult time. Heaven just got another wonderful angel.
