Obituary of Elsie Mae Logue

Funeral Services for Elsie Mae Logue, 83, will be held 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, August 13, 2013, at the Pence ~ Reese Funeral Home in Newton. Friends may call at the funeral home after 5 p.m. Monday, Aug. 12, until 7 p.m.. Burial will be at the Newton Union Cemetery. Memorials have been designated in Elsie's Name.
Elsie Mae Logue, the daughter of Leonard and Helen Illene (Tratchel) Springer, was born September 17, 1929, in Newton. She attended the Newton Senior High School, and was a high school graduate.
On July 17, 1946, Elsie was united in marriage with Robert L. Logue in Newton. A lifelong resident of the Newton area, she had lived a short time in Knoxville, 1971-83. She devoted her life to her husband and family, and was an Avon Lady and later District Manager for AVON. She enjoyed her family and fishing, was a member of the Red Hat Ladies and enjoyed community involvement.
Elsie died on Thursday evening, August 8, 2013, at the Iowa Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Robert on Feb. 5,1999; granddaughter Brenda Casady in infancy; and two sisters: Hazel DeBruyn and Lois Livingston. Elsie will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her.
Those left to honor the memory of Elsie's include her daughters: Dixie L. Casady of Newton and Kathryn A. (Randy) Wooten of Phoenix, AZ; her sons: Robert W. (Roseanna) Logue of Johnston and Michael D. (Toni) Logue of Knoxville; her 10 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren; and her many friends.
