Bob Thompson was one of the best! Life on South 11th Ave West won't be the same without him. He and Clarice were fabulous neighbors to grow up with, and have continued to be lifelong friends. Bob was one of dad's best friends, and they played many holes of golf together. Often dad would come home with some "cute story that Bob Thompson told me". His sense of humor, friendly smile, beautiful rose bushes and flawless lawn will be remembered by all.

Our family will miss Uncle Bob greatly. Growing up so closely to them was such a treat but it became even more special with his daily visits as we shared our dog Charlie. He got to be lovingly known as Uncle Bob by our neighbors and friends. His caring and kindness was felt by us all and we will miss his hugs. Everyone should be so lucky to have an Uncle Bob.

I worked with Bob at Maytag for almost 40 years. He was in manufacturing. I was in sales and marketing. With his upbeat personality and people skills, I always believed he would have been a strong leader in sales as he was in building the products. He was a great guy and an important asset to Maytag and the Newton community.

Clarice and family, I send my condolences to you all. What a wonderful man Bob was! He was so good to my dad when he was slowed by a stroke, and then to my mom when Dad died.
