John P. Campbell, 61, of Madrid, formerly of Waterloo, died Tuesday, October 30, 2012 after a lengthy illness at Park Centre in Newton, IA. He was surrounded by family members. John graduated from Iowa State University, and worked for 3M Corporation in Ames for many years. He was an avid hunter and fisherman--a true lover of the great outdoors. He is survived by: one daughter, Sarah Campbell, of Lowell, AR; two brothers, Phil Campbell and wife Nancy, of Oak Ridge, TN, and Bill Campbell and wife Debbie, of Waterloo, IA; two sisters, Patricia Hennessey and husband Jim, of Lansing, MI, and Barb Campbell-Buse and husband Greg, of Waunakee, WI; his nephews and nieces (and their families): Paul Campbell, Samuel Campbell, Christopher Hennessey, Colin Campbell, John Campbell, Kelly Campbell and Catherine Campbell-Hennessey. His parents, Paul and Virginia Campbell, of Waterloo, and an infant sister, Katherine Campbell preceded John in death. The family will hold a memorial service at a later date.
