Obituary of Myrtle Mabel Todd

Myrtle Mabel Todd, the daughter of Ott Adam and Anna Ellen (Suthers) Propst, was born June 1, 1923 in Crookston, Minnesota. She graduated from the Marshalltown Senior High School in 1941. "Myrt" was united in marriage in 1981 with LeRoy Todd in Newton, Iowa. She worked for the Maytag Company in Newton, Iowa as an Inspector. She retired in 1982 after 31 years. "Myrt" was a member of the U.A.W. retirees union and the First Christian Church. She was a huge fan of reading, preferring Westerns and Mystery novels. She also loved ceramics and needlepoint. "Myrt" died October 7, 2012 at the Skiff Medical Center under the care of Skiff Hospice. She was 89 years old. "Myrt" was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, LeRoy in 1990; her brother, Mark Propst and her sisters, Darlene Propst, Virginia Clark and Lucille Walker. Those left to honor "Myrt's" memory include her sister, Beverly (Bill) Wilkening of Newton, Iowa; her nephews, Clark Propst of Mason City, IA, Dan (Sharon) Propst of Marshalltown, IA, David Wilkening of Newton, Gary (Mary) Wilkening of Monroe, IA; her niece, Sandra Walker of Baxter, MN; six great nephews and nieces and several great-great nephews and nieces.
