Eustace Kilgour (E.K.) Shaw, the son of Robert Eustace and Susan Kilgour Shaw, was born July 12, 1925, in Dixon, Illinois. He graduated from Dixon High School and DePauw University in Greencastle, Indiana.
On June 26, 1945, E.K. was united in marriage with Nancy Kochs in Chicago, Illinois. He served in the Naval Air Corps during World War II. He worked for the B.F. Shaw Printing Corporation for 58 years and served as the publisher for the Newton Daily News. E.K. was a member of St. Stephens Episcopal Church in Newton; the Newton Masonic Lodge #55 AF & AM (55 year member); Gebal Chapter #12 R.A.M. (50 year member) Oriental Commandery #22 K.T.; Des Moines Scottish Rite Consistory; Za-Ga-Zig Shrine; the Newton Elks Lodge; the Isaac Walton League and the Newton Country Club.
E.K. died on Friday, November 6, 2009, at the Monarch Wing at Skiff Medical Center in Newton, Iowa. He was 84 years old. E.K. was preceded in death by his parents.
Those left to honor E.K.'s memory include his wife Nancy of Newton, Iowa; his sons, William (Amy) Shaw of Dixon, Illinois and Robert (Lillian) Shaw of Taos, New Mexico; his grandchildren, Charles (Carrie) Shaw, Meredith Shaw, Michael (Liz) Shaw and William Shaw and his sister Janet (Bill) Loring of Fruita, Colorado.
