I am very saddened by the passing of a man that I consider to be one of the finest human beings that has ever walked the face of the earth. I remember Wayne as a very patient Sunday School Teacher when I was in junior high and high school. I will always hear in my mind Wayne's fine voice leading the hymns in Sunday School and his clear strong bass when he wasn't leading. I sing bass in a quartet today because I tried to emulate Wayne's singing of the bass part at Mt Zion Church. I have a love of God and a love of music today that I attribute to my formative years spent around Wayne Van Dalen. I count it a privilege to have grown up under Wayne's influence and look forward to meeting him again when it is my turn to step into eternity. Warren Kleinendorst

I was priviledged to know Mr. Van Dalen through his son, Lehrl, my Army comrade and best friend. Mr. & Mrs. Van Dalen welcomed both me and my parents and sister to their home on various occasions for great fellowship, even better food and always a lesson in scrabble that shamed one who considered himself educated.I'm sure that the Heavenly Choir just added another fine voice. Our condolences to the family.

My deepest and most sincerest expressions of sympathy are extended to Wayne's family. Wayne was such a wonderful husband and he showed the true vows of God's marriage verses to Valeta. He was so sweet, caring of everyone, and very educated in God's love to everyone.
