Private Graveside services for Lloyd will be Friday, October 2, 2009. The Pence~Reese Funeral Home in Newton, have been entrusted with the arrangements. A visitation with the family will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m.; Thursday, Oct. 1, at the funeral home. In LIEU of flowers: Memorials in Lloyd's name are being designated to the Monroe Ambulance Service.
Lloyd Nathanial White, 78, the son of Francis Eugene and Dora (Walters) White, was born August 8, 1931 in Monroe County, Iowa. He served his country during the Korean Conflict, with the US Army.
On January 2, 1957, Lloyd was united in marriage with Imogene Mae (Jean) Weyers in Newton, Iowa. He was employed by the Schlotfeldt Auto Dealership in Newton for several years. In 1961, Lloyd and Jean began farming near Monroe. He devoted his life to his family and friends, and enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing cards.
Lloyd died Tuesday morning, September 29, 2009 at the Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines, IA. He was preceded in death by his parents; his four brothers: Floyd, Robert, Arnold and Harlan; and his three sisters: Kathleen, Marcella and Rosella.
Those left to honor Lloyd's memory include his wife Jean of rural Monroe; two daughters: Barbara (Randall) Clark of Pleasant Hill, Iowa and Denise (Dennis) White-Staecker of Sully, Iowa; a sister Edna (James) Saltzman of Altoona, Iowa; and his many friends.
Calling hours will be Thursday after 5 p.m.; Visitation with the family will be from 6 p.m. - 7:30pm at Pence ~ Reese Funeral Home, 310 N. 2nd Ave. E., Newton, IA. The private funeral will be Friday with Rev. John Claussen officiating.
Burial will be in Palo Alto Cemetery
