Obituary of Pansy Lee Aldrich

Pansy Lee Aldrich, 84, of Newton, IA, formerly of Ravanna, MO, passed away Thursday afternoon, March 22, 2012, at the Newton Health Care.
A funeral service for Pansy will be 10:30 a.m., Monday, March 26, 2012, at Pence-Reese Funeral Home in Newton. A visitation with the family will be held at the funeral home, one hour prior to the services. Memorials are being designated in Pansy's name, and maybe left at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Ravanna, Missouri Cemetery, 1:30 p.m. on Monday. The family invites you to join with them in a time of fellowship and lunch following the committal services, at the Ravanna Community Center.
Pansy, the daughter of James A. and Francis May (Klingensmith) Wendt, was born December 21, 1927, in Newtown, Missouri. She was a graduate of the Ravanna High School.
On August 2, 1947, Pansy was united in marriage with Ray Harding Aldrich in Hutchinson, KS. A longtime resident of the Mercer County, MO area, she moved to Newton to be near her daughter Patty. She had devoted her life to her family and friends, and was a member of the Faith Christian Center, the Lighthouse in Princeton, MO, was a Sunday school teacher and church secretary. Pansy was a kind and warm hearted lady, and will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her. She enjoyed helping with the church food pantry.
Pansy was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Ray on July 31, 1997, a son in infancy, Marion Luke Aldrich and a grandson Ricky.
Those left to honor Pansy's memory include her six children: daughters: Patty Hayes of Newton and Lelia (Danny) Alexander; her sons: Frank (Phyllis) Aldrich, James Aldrich, Marvin Aldrich and David Aldrich; her 25 grandchildren, including Tim Hayes, Melissa Raper and Justina Erpelding; her forty-two great-grandchildren and thirteen great-great grandchildren; sisters: Lois (Marlin) Field, Marion (Bill) Jacobs, Eldora (Kenneth) Marsengill; brother Wayne Wendt; a special friend, LeRoy Donaldson; and many friends.
