Obituary of Carolyn Joan Witte

Carolyn Joan Witte, 60, of Newton, died Monday, February 20, 2012, at her home in Newton.
Funeral service for Carolyn will be 1:00 p.m., Friday, February 24, 2012, at Pence - Reese Funeral Home in Newton, who has been entrusted with the arrangements, Rev. Merle Smith officiating. A visitation with the family will be held at the funeral home, one hour prior to the services, 12 noon until 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorials are being designated to; Sacred Heart Catholic Church or Kellogg Fire and Ambulance. Burial will be in Our Silent Cemetery in Kellogg.
Carolyn, the daughter of Edwin William and Eleanor Arlene (Hill) Witte, was born April 12, 1951, in Grinnell, Iowa. She was a graduate of the Newton Senior High, Class of 1969, and attended beauty and cosmetology school. She was employed by several beauty salons and Younker, for several years, in the Newton area. She also worked in sheet metal, for the Maytag Company, 1976 until 2003. She had devoted her life to her family and friends, and was attended the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Newton. She enjoyed Branson trips, and was involved with the Newton V.F.W. and American Legion, the Kellogg American Legion, Women's Relief Core and Women of the Moose #923.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents: Edwin W. Witte and Eleanor Arlene McGinnis; her brother Steve in 2006 and step brother Michael McGinnis on Feb. 22, 2011.
Those left to honor Carolyn's memory include her brother Dennis (Debbie) Witte of Kellogg; step father James Rollie McGinnis of Kellogg; step sister Donna Mae Lane (Tim Moore); step brothers: Jim (Sharon) McGinnis, and Nigle Lee McGinnis; sister-in-law Charlotte Witte; her nieces and nephews: Billy (Amy), Angie, Chelsie, Jarad, Katlyn and Chloye; her many cousins and her many friends.
