Obituary of Patrick James Myers

Patrick James Myers, 63, of Newton, died Wednesday morning, Feb. 15, 2012, at the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics in Iowa City. A Memorial graveside service for Pat, will be 2 p.m., Tuesday. March 6, at the Newton Memorial Park Cemetery, with Pence ~ Reese Funeral Home in Newton, who have been entrusted with the arrangements. No visitation is planned at this time. Pat, the son of Charles Merlin and Nathella Rose (Van Baale) Myers, was born June 27, 1948, in Newton. He was a graduate of the Newton Senior High. Pat had served his country with the US Army. A lifelong resident of the Newton area, Pat was employed for several years by Progress Industries. He had devoted his life to his family and friends, and attended the Church of God. He enjoyed old movies and was a kind and warm hearted gentleman, who always found the good in everyone. Pat was preceded in death by his parents. Those left to honor Pat's memory include his brothers, sisters and step-sisters: Michael Myers, Danniel Myers, Conrad Myers, David Myers, Candy Judkins, Penny Juarez, Cheryl Myers and Joe Myers; a special aunt and uncle: Bessie and Ed McKeag; several nieces and nephews; and his many friends at Capstone Behavioral Healthcare.
