Joyce S. Snyde, 81, the daughter of William "Bill" and Thelma (Todd) Trotter, was born March 8, 1930, in Newton.
On Sept. 17, 1950, Joyce was united in marriage with Benjamin Jack Snyder at the First United Methodist Church in Newton. She was employed as a phone operator and worked for the Newton Community Schools. She devoted her life to her husband and family, and was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Webster City. They had lived in the Newton area, and in 1974, they moved to Webster City, when Ben took a job as Webster City Post Master. She enjoyed traveling with Ben and her family, and was a longtime employee of Beams Manufacturing in Webster City.
Joyce was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Ben "Jack" on June 28, 2011; daughter Deborah Lou Reed in 1984; and twin sister JoAnne (Trotter) Paul.
Those left to honor Joyce's memory include her grandson Austin (Elizabeth) Reed of Peosta; great-grandsons: Barrett, Brooks and Beau Reed; sisters: Betty Moxley and Mary Moxley; and sisters-in-law: Joanne Austad of Newton and Margie Griffin of Plano, TX; brother-in-law Jim Snyder of Naples, FL; her nieces and nephews; and many friends.
