Obituary of Betty Louise Hoffert

Betty Louise Main Hoffert, 81, of Newton, died Friday evening, January 6, 2012, at Skiff Hospice Monarch Wing. Pence ~ Reese Funeral Home in Newton has been entrusted with the arrangements. Private services for immediate family and close friends will be held at a later date. Burial will be at Newton Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers: memorials are being designated to Skiff Hospice or donor's choice. Betty, the daughter of Paul Warren and A. Marie (Gibford) Main, was born April 21, 1930, in Jasper County, Iowa. She was a graduate from Newton Senior High. On September 1, 1950, Betty was united in marriage with Carl Edwin Hoffert in Newton. A lifelong time resident of the Newton area, she had devoted her life to her family and friends. She was a kind and warm hearted lady, who always found the good in everyone. Betty was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Carl. Those left to honor Betty's memory include her three sons and daughters-in-law: Marty (RaeAnn) Hoffert, Mark (Susan) Hoffert and Jon Hoffert (Kristy McDermott), all of Newton; five grandchildren and six great grandchildren; her sister, Martha (Dale) Froah; several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; several nieces and nephews; and her very special friends.
