Obituary of Eleanor Caroline Sandrock

Eleanor Caroline Sandrock, 88, passed away Friday, September 30, 2011, at Skiff Medical Center in Newton. Funeral services for Eleanor will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, October 4, 2011, at the Pence~Reese Funeral Home in Newton. Rev. Mark Young, pastor of the First Christian Church in Newton, conducting the services. A visitation with the family will be held 6 p.m. until 8 p.m., on Monday, October 3, at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorials in Eleanor's name are being designated. Burial will be at Newton Memorial Park Cemetery.
Eleanor, the daughter of Albert F. and Ella M. (Exter) Sieg, was born June 16, 1923, near Baxter. On January 31, 1942, she was united in marriage with Forrest D. Sandrock in Maryville, Missouri. A longtime resident of the Jasper county area, she had lived near Ira, Nevada, Coon Rapids, prior to Newton. Eleanor devoted her life to her family, and was a member of the First Christian Church and past president of the Newton Post #1655 V.F.W. Auxiliary. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
Eleanor was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Forrest on June 14, 1979; a grandson Kurtis Sandrock; and her brother Elmer Paul Sieg.
Those left to honor Eleanor's memory include her sons: Keith Allen (Pat) Sandrock of Chariton and Gordon Lynn (Ellen) Sandrock of Eden Prairie, MN; daughters: Donna Marie (Bob) Alderette of Sunset Beach, CA and Sheila (Keith) Dunkerson of Newton; five grandchildren: Kevin Sandrock, Kendi Trotter, Brandon Dunkerson and Lauren Alderette; six great-grandchildren: Brittany Trotter, Cody Trotter, Kurtlyn Sandrock, Tanner Sandrock, Hayden Dunkerson and Jaiden Eisbrenner; her sisters: Lois Belle Taylor of Portland, OR and Anna Mae Sieg of Erie, CO; and her many friends.
