Obituary of Mary Jane Andrews

Memorial services for Mary Jane, will be 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, September 21, 2011, at Cornerstone Fellowship Church in Newton, conducted by Pastor Brian Keeter. Pence~Reese Funeral Home in Newton, have been entrusted with the arrangements. Burial will be at the Newton Union Cemetery. Memorials have been designated in Mary Jane's name to Nelson Manor Activity Fund or Progress Industries.
Mary Jane Andrews, 56, the daughter of Donald Ray Andrews and Mildred Ruth Dhondt, was born June 12, 1955, in Grinnell.
A longtime resident of the Newton area, she devoted her life to her friends, enjoyed the outdoors and her time with Progress Industries. Mary Jane was a member of the Newton Optimist Club, also Aktion Kiwanis Club, she enjoyed participating in Special Olympics, volunteering in the community and received the "Volunteer of the Month" from Jasper County Human Services.
Mary Jane died Friday morning, September 16, 2011, at Nelson Manor in Newton. She was preceded in death by her mother Mildred Andrews on November 4, 1996.
Those left to honor Mary Jane's memory include her father Donald R. Andrews of Grinnell; and her many friends at Progress Industries, Nelson Manor and in Newton.
