I am really going to miss Uncle Jim. He was such a wonderful, strong, kind man. He had a huge influence on my life. I always wanted to be like Uncle Jim. He could fix just about anything. He was great to talk to, because he was so well educated and informed, but he was always so interested in me. It is a great privilege to be his nephew, and I will always treasure my memories of him. I know he will be looking out for all of us from heaven.

Jim was like a surrogate dad to me after my dad passed in 1986. He would come with Bob to New Jersey year after year to be sure that we always felt that we were part of the family, long after my dad died. His legacy will long be remembered and I am a better person for having known him.

Uncle Jim remains in my mind & heart as one of the finest men I have had the privelege to know and to learn from. He showed me through his actions that family & hard work were worthy priorities. He also could fix anything (even Uncle Bob said Jim was the best he'd ever seen). Uncle Jim & I shared stories & many laughs too. The world is a better place for having had Uncle Jim in it, & I am grateful to have spent time with him. My thoughts & prayers are with him, Marge, and his family.

There are so many memories over the past 40+ years...I liked the tours through Maytag Dairy (he even told me when to hold my nose)! The cows, the cars he was working on, receiving cheeses at Christmas.. how easy he would laugh especially with his nephew Pat McCabe.
