Obituary of Marilyn Jo Brown

A Celebration of Life service will be held 3:00 pm on Saturday, August 27 at The Home Of Jim and Deb Lammey, 1094 - South 52nd Ave. E., Newton, IA. Burial will be at a later date. Calling hours will be Saturday, August 27 following the Celebration Service at Jim And Deb Lammey's home, 1094 - South 52nd Ave. E., Newton, IA. Marilyn, 66, passed away Friday, August 26, 2011, Skiff Hospice Monarch Wing at Skiff Medical Center in Newton. A Celebration of Life Service, Saturday, Aug. 27, 2011, in Newton. Pence~Reese Funeral Home in Newton, have been entrusted with the arrangements. In lieu of flowers memorials in Marilyn's name are being designated to Skiff Hospice Monarch Wing. Marilyn Jo Brown, the daughter of Martha M. Brown, was born January 6, 1945, in Marshalltown. She attended school in Marshalltown, and had received her GED and later her CNA certificate. Marilyn was employed as a CNA at the Carriage of Newton, 14 years. Marilyn devoted her life to her family, and was a Union Representative at the Local UAW. She enjoyed cooking and gardening, and loved Elvis. Those left to honor Marilyn's memory include her daughters: Cindy Jo Hautekeete (Vickie Gallimore) of Apex, NC, Connie Sue Molstad of New Richmond, WI, and Debora Jean Lammey (Jim) of Newton; son James Harry Marshall Jr. (Marcy) of Lewisburg, PA; her nine grandchildren and two Great-grandchildren; her mother Martha M. Godfrey of Newton; sisters: Sherry Hautekeete (Richard), and Charlotte Hall (Mike); brother Kerry Godfrey of Newton; and her many friends.
