Obituary of Jayne Lea Kragel

Jayne Lea Kragel, a devoted mother, grandmother died at her home in Newton, Iowa, on Tuesday, January 7, 2025, at the age of 60. Born on June 24, 1964, in Springfield, Missouri, she was the cherished daughter of Stanley Frederick and Mary Alice (Ozburn) Dorr.

Jayne dedicated her life to the care of others, earning her nursing degree and serving in hospitals in Las Vegas, Nevada, and Des Moines, Iowa. Her gentle spirit, dedication, and kindness left a lasting impression on patients and colleagues alike.

Outside of her career, Jayne found great joy in the beauty of nature, often hiking and exploring the outdoors. Above all, she treasured her role as a grandmother, spending countless hours creating memories with her beloved grandchildren. Her love for family was boundless, and her warm presence will be deeply missed.

Jayne was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Judith Dorr; and her twin sister, Joyce Dorr.

She leaves behind a loving family who will forever honor her memory: her daughters, Sawyer Bowers, Amy Babcock, Carrie Hannusch, Adiceson Peppels, and Aliceson Peppels; her sons, Jensen Kragel and Max Kragel; her grandchildren, Pyper Bowers, Teagan Bowers, Cameron Bowers, Ethan Babcock, Elliott Babcock, Brady Babcock, Ashton Babcock, Lucas Hannusch, David Harris, Averie Hargrove, Alina Peppels, and Roman Kragel; her great-granddaughters, Lily Hannusch and Lyla Hannusch; and her brothers, Craig (Mary) Dorr and Chuck (Heather) Dorr.

Jayne's family is planning a Celebration of Life from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 11, 2025, at the Fairfield Inn and Suites 207 Crocker Street in Des Moines, Iowa, 50309.   Jayne's kindness, love, and unwavering dedication to her family and those she cared for will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew her.
