Obituary of Robert Dean Talbot

Robert Dean Talbot, Jr., 42, passed away Monday, May 23, 2011, at Skiff Medical Center in Newton. A Time of Fellowship and Celebration of Robert's Life will be 1:30 p.m., Friday, May 27, at the Newton Salvation Army. A visitation with the family will be held one hour prior to the services. Pence ~ Reese Funeral Home in Newton, have been entrusted with the arrangements. In lieu of flowers memorials in Robert's name are being designated. Robert "Bobby", the son of Robert D. Talbot, Sr. and Wanda J. Fink, was born January 7, 1969, in Iowa City, Iowa. He was a graduate of the Newton Senior High School, Class of 1990. Bobby had devoted his life to others, and was a member of the Newton Salvation Army Church. He had delivered newspapers for the Newton Daily News, for over 20 years, and also the Des Moines paper. He was an avid Iowa Hawkeye Fan, to say the least. He lived and breathed Iowa Hawkeye's, and was a member of the I-Club in Newton. He also enjoyed playing the drums at church, going to Iowa Cubbie games and watching All Star Wrestling, WWF & WWA, on TV. Bobby was preceded in death by his father Robert, Sr. and three of his grandparents. Those left to honor Bobby's memory include his mother Wanda (David) Mills of Newton; a brother Michael Talbot of Newton; a sister Michelle Oswalt of Newton; his grandmother; several uncles and aunts; and his many friends. Calling hours will be Friday, One hour prior to services, with the family at the Newton Salvation Army, 301 N. 2nd Avenue E., Newton, IA. The funeral will be Friday at 1:30 at Newton Salvation Army, Capt. Rob and Capt. Bethany with officiating.
