Obituary of Jerry Dwayne Roush

Jerry Dwayne Roush, 80, the son of Raymond William and Marguerite (Pierce) Roush, was born March 21, 1944, near Newton, Iowa. He attended Newton Schools, and enjoyed fishing and watching Figure Eight Racing, enjoying working outdoors. On November 15, 1964, Jerry was united in marriage with Linda Hauersperger in Laurel, Iowa. In 1974, they moved to Kellogg, Iowa. He was employed by Farmhand Equipment Company in Grinnell, for over 20 years. He had also worked in construction, enjoying working outdoors. He and Linda were divorced. Jerry died Saturday morning, August 24, 2024, at his home in Newton. He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter in infancy, Shonna; sisters: Marilyn Knox of Knoxville and Judy Krutsinger of Chariton; his brothers: Don of Lacona and Earnie Roush of Chariton. Those left to honor Jerry's memory include his children: Rick (Julia) Roush of Newton, Gary (Jill) Roush of Shawnee, Kansas and Bill (Danielle) Roush of Newton; his six grandchildren; his brothers: Bobby (Carolyn) Roush and Howard Roush, all of Newton; his sisters: Katie Slycord of Knoxville and Linda Osborn of Newton; and his many extended family and friends. Memorial Funeral services for Jerry will be 1:30 p.m., Tuesday, September 3, 2024, at the Pence ~ Reese Funeral Home in Newton, with a visitation one hour prior to the services. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be designated to Jerry's family, or to a charity of your choosing. Burial will be in the Newton Union Cemetery. Type Obit Here
