I worked with Susan at Skiff from 2002-2006 during my high school and college years as well as keeping in touch for many years after when visiting. Susan truly was one special gal, and this obituary memorializes her perfectly! Like all of us, she had good days and bad but she truly was always the brightest shining light in her little corner of the world. Susan was the best of us, and I’m sure her faith is being rewarded tenfold as she is home with her lord, just as she always imagined.

I’m so sad to hear of Susan’s passing! Susan was a very friendly lady and I enjoyed being neighbors with her in the apartments in 5th St S in Newton. My Prayers and Love are sent to the family!

I am so sorry to hear about Susan's passing. I have not lived in Newton for many years. Although, when I have been home, I did get to see her in church when I attended. I had the pleasure of working with Susan many years ago in the dietary at Skiff Memorial. It was my first REAL job. Susan was such a dedicated and hard working person. I never remember her missing a day of work. She taught a lot of us the art of peeling potatoes and doing it with a smile on our face. I feel fortunate to have been able to know her.
