Obituary of Lorraine Grace White

Lorraine Grace White, 70, of Newton, passed away on Sunday evening, May 26, 2024, at Newton Health Care.

  Lorraine, the daughter of Arthur L. and Fern (Whittlesey) Oswalt, was born May 20, 1954, in Newton.  She graduated from the Newton Senior High School, Class of 1972, and later received her Bachelor Degree in Adult Education, from Iowa State University. 

  Lorraine was united in marriage with Arnold Edward White, in 1978, at the Newton Ramada Inn .  She enjoyed sharing her life with him, and spending time with her family and friends.  She was employed as an Adult Education Coordinator at Marshalltown Community College and with Iowa Valley.  She was a member of the Community Heights Alliance Church in Newton.  She was preceded in death by her parents; and five sisters and brothers. 

  A visitation with the family and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.  The Pence~Reese Funeral Home, in Newton, is in charge of the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be left to Lorraine’s family or a charity of your choosing.
