M. Denise Kulp, born on February 8, 1960, in Jacksonville, FL. Denise, the beloved daughter of Terry Williams and Marion (De Ella) Collins, was a beacon of love and compassion, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her. Denise pursued her education in Jacksonville, earning her associate degree, laying the foundation for a life of dedicated service. On February 12, 1988, she married Dennis Kulp in Jacksonville, marking the beginning of a beautiful journey together. Throughout her professional life, Denise served as an Administrative Secretary at various universities, including the University of North Florida, Arkansas State University, and Montana State University. Her commitment to her work was surpassed only by her unwavering dedication to those around her. Denise recently retired from the Vernon Company in Newton, Iowa, concluding a career marked by diligence and a warm spirit. She had a unique ability to connect with people, always opening her heart and welcoming new friends into her circle. Her warmth and genuine kindness were evident to all who had the privilege of knowing her. A woman of deep faith, Denise was a devoted member of Immanuel Baptist Church in Newton. Her love for the Lord was palpable, and she shared that love generously with her family and friends. Denise's life reflected the values of compassion, forgiveness, and grace. Denise had a special affection for border collies, particularly her cherished dog, Holly, who brought immense joy to her life. Denise was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Carolyn. She is survived by her loving husband, Dennis, her sons, Doug Kulp and Dillon (Abi) Kulp, her step-sons, Courtney Kulp and Khoii Kulp, for whom she loved and cared. In addition to her immediate family, she leaves behind a legacy of love through her surviving sister, Julie Dedmon, brother Michael (Liz) Collins, nieces, nephews, and a multitude of friends. Funeral services to celebrate Denise's life will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, January 6, 2024, at the Pence ~ Reese Funeral Home in Newton. A Facebook Live broadcast of the service will begin at 11:00 am on the Pence Reese Funeral Home and Cremation Service Facebook page. Prior to the service, a time of visitation with the family will take place from 10:00 – 11:00 am on January 6th at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be designated in Denise's name to Immanuel Baptist Church, and they may be left at the funeral home. As we say our goodbyes, let us remember Denise for the love she showered upon us all and the countless lives she touched with her kindness and warmth.
