Obituary of Richard Dillon Rainey

Richard Dillon Rainey, the son of John Henry and Helen Fay Dillon Rainey, was born January 5, 1934 in Knob Noster, MO. In 1956, Dick was married to Marjorie Roberta Lea Weaver in Newton, Iowa. Dick served his country in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. He worked as a Truck Driver for several companies over the years including, Merchant's Transfer and Diamond Crystal. Dick was member of the Teamsters' Union. Dick died on Monday, March 14, 2011 at the Monarch Wing at Skiff Medical Center in Newton. He was 77 years old. Dick was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Marjorie in 1999 and his brothers, George, Ken, John and Bill. Those left to honor Dick's memory include his brother, Robert of Missouri and several good friends. Graveside services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 22nd at the Newton Union Cemetery Veteran's Section. A time of visitation will be held from 1 - 3 p.m. on Tuesday, March 22nd at the Pence ~ Reese Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be designated in Dick's name and left at the Pence ~ Reese Funeral Home.
