Mary Margaret was a dear neighborhood friend in our younger years. We lived about a mile apart and had many adventures together. My parents, sister Betty Ann, and I lived on the "county line" road, and when we moved, Everett & Sarah moved there. I graduated from Monte in 1955. I must share with you one humerous experience which has always remained in my memory. I had a pony (Trigger), but Mary Margaret had a bicycle - and we always enjoyed switching when we got together. One day I was hauling drinking water to the threshers, so I let my friend ride my pony and I followed down the lane with her bike. Well, Trigger got to trotting too fast to suit Mary Margaret, so she just slid off. We and all the threshers had quite a time trying to corrall that pony in a large oat field!!!!
I remember Mary Margaret as she was then - and thus it does not seem possible that she is gone. You, her family, have my deepest sympathy, and I'm sure you have even more memories than I do of a great childhood friend.

I have been blessed to know her, and wish you all the best with her memories.

Mary was a wonderful nurse. I worked with her at Skiff and had such great respect for her ability to take great care of all of her patients. She was pleasant all of the time. She will be missed. May she rest in peace in the Kingdom of heaven. May the Lord carry you thru this difficult time.

Mary was a most loyal friend and faithful prayer warrior. She prayed for me and my family daily and teased me, a non Catholic, about doing so on the rosary. We had many wonderful times in the Lord and I know she is cavorting with Jesus now. How she longed to be with Him through the years, so my family and I can't be sad for her, only for those she left.
We shared lots of humor and my "Humor" folder is full of Mary's emailed jokes and cartoons. I know she will continue to be a Prayer Warrior from heaven, faithfully interceding for her children Andrea and James, and their children as well as for the rest of us, as she always did. Goodbye Mary, see you in heaven!

Mary married into the Haworth family - but I didn't live in Iowa even though my mom and dad both were born and raised near Oskaloosa ( dad took us to see everyone every summer while growing up. Mary was sending me e-mails - I'll miss all her forwarded jokes. She was so warm - we are sad for her family.

My husband and I met Mary about five years ago and she was our best friend ever since. Everyone who met her was filled with her inner light and love. We, as well as many others were richer for ever knowing her. In life, she was a friend, mother, and teacher to us all. In death, she remains. She will be in our memories forever and will live there until the day we meet her once again. In short, we loved her dearly and will miss her every day for the rest of our lives.

What is a difficult time for friends & family is but a glorious time for the angels that Mary is surely among. I have known Mary for many yrs & had the pleasure of caring for her mom. I could always count on Mary to stop in & cheer me up with one of her jokes and contagious laugh. Even after her mom's passing she would still stop by to chat or tell a joke. I am blessed to have known her & been able to call her friend. I will truly miss her ever famous emails and updates on her family for whom she was so proud of. She touched my life and her memory will stay with me. The world was a better & brighter place with her presence. Her thoughtfullness obviously is carried on thru her children for even thru the difficult time kept us all updated. Thank you for sharing your mom with me!!!

I loved working with your Mom at Skiff. You always knew if Mary was working you would have a fun night as you never knew what she would come up with. She loved nursing and caring for the patients but you could also tell that her first love was the Lord. I know you will miss her but hold on to the memories and you love for the Lord and HE will get you through this time of grieving.

I had the privilege of working with Mary at Skiff. Nursing was such an important part of who she was. I remember her love of poetry and photography. But even more was her strong love of faith.
Rest in peace, Mary.

Words cannot give proper credit for the way your mother touched lives. She was a wonderful nurse with a true passion for her patients and her love of the Lord.
