I remember snuggling up with Grandpa as a little girl and him smelling like Old Spice. As long as I can remember, Grandpa's favorite thing was making people laugh. He spent a lot of time coming up with jokes and puzzles.

Dad was a special man. He loved his work. He took his job very seriously, working long hours protecting wildlife and enforcing the law. He enjoyed nearly 29 years of retirement, especially the summers at his beloved Lake George. He had a good life. We love him and miss him.

We remember all the fun summer vacations spent at Lake George with Rex, Marge, Ron, Linda, Jim & Sherry, Happy Hours at 5:00, learning to water ski, sitting in the lawn swing on the beach watching the sunrise, fish hook in a hand, Rex measuring Susan's legs to see if they were growing from last year, helping the Jim's. My sister, Marilee, and I didn't know Rex personally, but came to know him through our dad, Smitty, who lived at The Village for a while. Rex would stop in and visit with Dad, and he became one of the brightest spots in Dad's life. Rex's jokes and stories (and his book) made Dad one of his biggest fans. What a blessing to be able to bring so much joy to others! We know his loss must be sorely felt by his loved ones, but lights like Rex's never go out.

I remember every summer at Lake George for more than 40 years. Our house with Dad John and Mildred Chase, as me and my kids went up every other day and now we have property on Lake Paine, Rex was funny and watched me rack both beaches for year after year. He was funny man with a big heart. We will miss him and good luck and health to Marge and her family. We still go up every few weeks and drive by his house and say Hi Tex and Marges house, we miss you. Ree
