Obituary of Max Willard Rabourn

Max Willard Rabourn, the stepson of Milo Wood and his mother, Anna Rabourn Wood, was born March 15, 1930, in Newton, Iowa. He graduated from the Newton Senior high School with the class of 1948. Max served four years in the United States Air Force from 1950 to 1954.
On October 27, 1951, Max was united in marriage with Dorothy Shaver at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. Max farmed for 35 years and ran a construction business for 30 years. Max raised two boys, Steve and Curt. Max enjoyed traveling, fishing, and racing.
Max died on Monday, November 1, 2021, at MercyOne Newton Medical Center. He was 91 years old. Max was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Joe; and three sisters, Deloris, Pearl and Naicia.
Those left to honor Max's memory include his wife, Dorothy; his sons, Steve (Deb) and Curt (Mindy); three grandchildren, Richard, Nora, Bonnie; and six great grandchildren.
There are no services planned for Max. Memorials in Max's name may be left at the Pence Reese Funeral Home.
