Obituary of Daniel Francis Lamb

Daniel Francis Lamb, 70, the son of John T. and Mary L. (Witte) Lamb, was born May 11, 1951, in Newton. He had attended the Newton Schools.
Dan was employed by Progress Industries in Newton, and after retiring he was involved with Optimae. He enjoyed Jasper County’s Community Integration, health cooking classes, his membership at the local YMCA, garage sales, hunting, fishing, bowling, and relaxing at the Mariposa Pond. Dan’s positive outlook had always impressed his peers. He devoted his life to his family and extended family and friends.
Dan died Thursday morning, August 26, 2021, at the Newton Health Care Center. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers: Kenneth Lamb and Etmer Lamb.
Funeral services for Dan will be 11:00am, Wednesday, September 1, 2021, at the Pence ~ Reese Funeral Home in Newton, who have been entrusted with the arrangements. Memorials are being designated to Dan’s family.
Visitation will be at the Pence ~ Reese Funeral Home, just prior to the services, 10am until 11am.
A Facebook Broadcast of the Funeral service for Dan will be held at 11am, Wednesday, on the Pence ~ Reese Funeral Home and Cremation Services Facebook page.
Burial will be in the Newton Union Cemetery, next to his mother and father.
Those left to honor Dan’s memory include his sisters and brothers: Violet (Pete) Hildreth, Linda Massengale, Ron Lamb and Jim (Linda) Lamb; his sister-in-law Deena Lamb; his many nieces and nephews; and many extended family and friends.
