Joyce and I met at the thrift store of the salvation army we started quilting together and she never stopped she was one of the ladies that would help others succeed in their quilts and teach other quilting projects but most of all she was there for my family and for me she went on vacation and took trips with us and everywhere we went we shopped quilt shops she probably had more fabric than since but we got through some of that what we couldn't use we could give away and that was always a fun side of quilting was helping others when we weren't quilting Joyce would be part of my family and she would help fill in whenever my right hand couldn't fulfill it all she would be there no matter what if you asked she would help you I don't recall her ever turning anybody away we love Joyce very much and she will be very much missed but most of all I want to say thank you to a wonderful family that has taken the time to share her with us we love you Carol Cook

I worked with Joyce and Jim at Maytag. She always had a smile on her face. We went to flea markets and Longaberger parties. She was always so fun! Prayers for her family.

Joyce and I met at a nail salon in Newton, she became a great friend, who was always smiling and happy. We had so much fun together, we put up a swing in our elm tree for the grandkids, we went out to eat, on many occasions. We went to California together in 2006, when my daughter , Amy choose her wedding dress. My daughter, wanted me to be more like Joyce, when I asked what she meant, she said, "Joyce always matches, her jewelry, clothes, shoes, purse, etc", So I gave Joyce a nickname, "Jazzy Joyce", and it stuck. I teased her about it last week, and she smiled, and said with a smile, "Jazzy Joyce", she was a kind person, and a good friend, I loved her like a sister, and will miss her very much! God Bless her family at this difficult time, So sorry Jim, Kim, and all of her extended relatives, especially her siblings, and cousins, Linda and Stacy. I feel very fortunate to have had Joyce for a friend, she was one in a million. Carolyn Hoxton

Thinking of you, Jim & Joane and Joyce's children, during this difficult time. As a younger cousin, I remember Joyce always smiling & laughing, but I have to admit I'd not seen her in years. I hope your family, friends, and fond memories can help to ease your sorrow. . Hugs & prayers to you all from Sharon (McWhirter) & Tom DeWitt, Rogersville MO
