Luther was a very special person. He was very warm and loving and he touched the hearts of all who knew him. I enjoyed getting to know him while he lived at Newton Village and I know I will miss him deeply.

I've never heard anything but good about Luther Rhodes. Unfortunately for me, I only got to spend time with Uncle Lute when I was a child, back in the 60s. But his warmth, humor, kindness, and music captivated me then and are firmly locked in my memory now. I regret not having had the opportunity to square dance with him. We met Luther as a sqiare damce caller in Tucson in the early 1980's. We will never forget the good times we had. He was a great entertainer, too. We also loved to hear him play and sing his "diddies". We loved you, Luther.
