Obituary of Roberta Marlene Wade
Roberta Marlene Wade, the daughter of Robert Levi Warrick and Winnifred Eleanor Owens was born December 16, 1935 in Colfax, Iowa. She graduated from East High School in Des Moines, Iowa with the Class of 1954. She was united in marriage to Edward Wallace Wade on August 24, 1960, in Rome, New York. They moved to Prairie City, Iowa in 1976. Together they operated a home and office cleaning business.
Roberta enjoyed painting, quilting, gardening, photography and family history. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Prairie City Garden Club and Beta Sigma Pi Sorority.
Roberta died on Wednesday, December 2, 2020 at Unity Point Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa.
Those left to honor the memory of Roberta include her sons and daughters-in-law Eric (Tina) Wade of Reasnor, Iowa and Dana (Desiree) Wade of Parker, Idaho, eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, brother and sister-in-law Robert M. (Marilyn) Warrick of Mesa, Arizona and two nieces. Roberta was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Edward Wade on July 20, 2020.
A visitation will be held on Monday, December 7, 2020 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Pence-Reese Funeral Home in Newton. Social distancing will be practiced and masks are required. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, December 8, 2020, at 1:00 pm at McKeever Cemetery in rural Colfax, Iowa. Memorials are designated to Newton YMCA Arts or Breast Cancer Research.
