Obituary of Phyllis L Sille

Phyllis L. Sille, the daughter of Kendall R. and Merriem (Kling) Matteson, was born September 11, 1943 in Newton, Iowa. She graduated from the Newton Senior High School with the class of 1961. Phyllis worked as an inspector at the Maytag Company. On June 24, 1988, Phyllis was united in marriage with Alfred J. Sille in Newton, Iowa. Phyllis was a longtime member of Iron Sharpens Iron in Newton. Phyllis died on Sunday, November 29, 2020 at Unity Point Health Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa. She was77 years old. Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Alfred; a step-son, Scott Ulrey; and step-daughter and step-son-in-law, Robin and Dick Goodman. Those left to honor Phyllis' memory include her sons, douglas (Lynn) Ulrey and Patrick Ulrey; her daughter, Jennifer Ulrey; her step-son, Casey (Tammy) Ulrey; her step-daughter, Becky (Gary) Nolin; her step-daughter-in-law, Dawn Ulrey; eighteen grandchildren; many great grandchildren; her brother, David Matteson; and her sisters Sandy Matteson and Judy Matteson. A time to greet some of the family will be held from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m., Friday, December 11th at the Pence Reese Funeral Home in Newton. Social distancing will be observed, and masks are required. A public funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 12, 2020 at the Pence ~ Reese Funeral Home. A Facebook Live Broadcast of the service will begin at 2:00 p.m. on the Pence Reese Funeral Home and Cremation Services Facebook page. Memorials may be designated to Iron Sharpens Iron and may be left at the funeral home.
