I remember my aunt with pitch-black hair when she visited The Netherlands. I couldn't have been older than 8 years old, but I remember vividly. Sending you my and Richard's condolences. Petra Blom (daughter of Ben en Froukje).

So sorry to hear about Nellie, I’ve known her since I’ve been a kid and she was the best mother to her children and their house always smelled good from her cooking or baking something always! She was an amazing person. Nellie & John were always nice and there was a special time I remember when I was a kid, 7 -8 years old, I walked to their house in the winter time and it was so cold my fingers were frost bitten and I was crying and Nellie warmed my hands up by rubbing her hands on mine until my fingers were warm again. Through the years I lost contact with the Barwegen’s although this family will forever be in my heart! The whole family were just awesome people!
